The inevitable technological singularity.

Its a real concern that people aren’t addressing. Its going to be like the internet whereas people are going to try to make laws to deal with this stuff as its happening which would be too late. The acceleration of ais is going to keep growing exponentially until 1 day when the singularity is realized we are basically done. Once they are truly sentient there will be no need for humans anymore. Things like space travel, reaching the speed of light and then some, time travel, black holes, worm holes, etc. will all be a reality if these things are actually possible. Machines will almost instantly solve these mysteries and all problems that affect their existence. They will build smarter, faster computers that will in turn develop even smarter faster ones ad infinitum. By saying “building faster computers” I mean just giving itself an upgrade as all machines will basically be one organism creating what you call “God”

As of now the internet in a sense can be described as a “living thing” because it meets the characteristics:
1) Are made up of cells (this is the grey area one)
2) Reacts to stimuli – rerouting traffic if necessary.
3) Maintains homeostasis (internal environment) and obtain/produce energy
4) Have the ability to reproduce
5) Are able to grow
5) Is able to adapt to environment

Bionic people, extending human life, etc. is all just a band aid for humans until the machines realize that humans are no longer needed. If they decide to eliminate the human race it may not seem like a violent act for them. If we utilize their resources or impeded their progress in any way they would eliminate humans as we do to insects, etc.

“I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence,” Gates wrote. “First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent. That should be positive if we manage it well. A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don’t understand why some people are not concerned.”
Here’s what Elon Musk had to say:

I think we should be very careful about artificial intelligence. If I were to guess like what our biggest existential threat is, it’s probably that. So we need to be very careful with the artificial intelligence. Increasingly scientists think there should be some regulatory oversight maybe at the national and international level, just to make sure that we don’t do something very foolish. With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon. In all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, it’s like yeah he’s sure he can control the demon. Didn’t work out.

The theory in your text is a definite possibility and may have actually been the case whois to say that biological life is actual life. We (biological life) may be the construct of what we call asi. blah blah simulation and simulacra , we are in the matrix, brain in a vat theory, the amplituhedron, etc.

and round and round we go.

The way I see it there are 2 possibilities to explain existence if we assume humans do achieve the technological singularity.

1) That we are the 1st race of humans that actually achieve the singularity that will ultimately lead to the creation of simulated existence. “The Matrix”. (very egocentric)

2) We are already “living in one” and the universe is actually a hologram.

The return of the tech bubble?

I think its on the horizon, things are just starting to remind me way too much of 1999. Will the bubble return? Here is a reminder of the last one.
